What changes from Monday? Find out everything you can do again
António Costa has confirmed this Thursday, following the latest Council of Ministers, that most of Portugal will advance to the new opening up stage. As of next Monday, the 19th, new establishments will reopen doors and activities will once again be part of the daily lives of citizens, with the exception of the municipalities where the risk of transmission is still considered high.
The Government has determined, however, that the resumption of face-to-face education for students in secondary education and higher education must advance throughout the continental territory, regardless of the level of risk in each municipality.
What reopens next Monday?
Throughout the continental territory:
•High schools
•University education
In the municipalities that advance to the next stage:
• Citizen stores with face-to-face service by appointment
• Restaurants, cafes and pastry shops (maximum 4 people or 6 on terraces, per group), until 10:30pm on weekdays or 1:00pm on weekends and holidays
• Cinemas, theatres, auditoriums and concert halls (complying with the rules that were previously defined by the General Directorate of Health)
• All stores and shopping centres, regardless of size
• Outdoor events with reduced capacity (5 people per 100 square meters)
• Weddings and baptisms with a 25% capacity
• Medium-risk sports modalities
• Outdoor physical activity for up to 6 people
In the municipalities that remain as they are (i.e. neither advance or retreat):
In this category, are the municipalities that, for the second consecutive biweekly evaluation, have an incidence rate greater than 120 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days: Alandroal, Albufeira, Beja, Carregal do Sal, Figueira da Foz, Marinha Grande and Penela.
It is allowed to:
◦ Operate stores up to 200 square metres with door to the street
◦ Hold fairs and non-food markets (by municipal decision)
◦ Open terraces (with a maximum limitation of 4 people per table) until 10:30pm on weekdays and until 1:00pm on weekends
◦ Practice sports that are considered low risk
◦ Have outdoor physical activity for up to 4 people and gyms without group classes
◦ Operate gyms without group classes
◦ Operate social facilities in the field of disabled people
In the receding counties:
At this level are the municipalities that, for the second consecutive biweekly evaluation, have an incidence rate greater than 240 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days: Moura, Odemira, Portimão and Rio Maior.
• To close:
◦ Terraces
◦ Stores up to 200 square metres with door to the street
◦Gyms
◦Museums, monuments, palaces, art galleries and the like
• Prohibition of:
◦ Tradeshows and non-food markets
◦ Low risk sports modalities
• The operation of:
◦ Trade without the customers going indoors is allowed
◦ Auto trade and real estate mediation
◦ Hairdressing salons, manicurists and similar, after prior appointment
◦ Books and musical media trade establishments
◦ Parks, gardens, green spaces and leisure spaces
◦ Libraries and archives
