GBS OF FAURECIA IN ROLIGO BECAUSE OF THE “ROAD ACCESS FACILITIES”

Faurecia installed the Global Business Services in the Industrial Area of Roligo and assure that the decision was due to the easy road acess, as well as to the proximity to the city of Porto – and specifically to the Airport Francisco Sá Carneiro – and to the city of Aveiro. The French company dedicated to the industry automotive sector shows itself satisfied with the decision.

Faurecia, the French automotive group, inaugurated the Global Business servisse (GBS) on My 13, in the Industrial Area of Roligo, a service center whose goal is to serve Western Europe, North Africa and South America. We looked to understand the motivations that led to the moving of the group which integrates Euronext and which includes the bourses of Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
Founded in 1997, Faurecia has been consolidating its position in the automotive industry, affirming itself as one of the main suppliers and leading four business areas: Seats, Interiors (doors and control panels), Clean Mobility (vehicle exhaustion) and "Clarion Electronics” (electronic components). "Faurecia has focused its technological strategy on providing solutions for the Cockpit of the Future and for Sustainable Mobility”. In 2018, the group reported sales of € 17.5 billion”, said the company to Correio da Feira.

The decision to install the GBS project in Santa Maria da Feira "is fundamentally related to the easy road access, proximity to the city of Porto and Aveiro and the airport [Francisco Sá Carneiro]". In this center of operations there is no sector dedicated to the production of components, only offices. "GBS is a center of operations that includes all the most important support functions such as finance, purchasing and sales. It is a unity totally independent of the two existing manufacturing units in S. João da Madeira." The question about the existence of fiscal incentives by the Municipality of Feira - with the objective of bringing the company to the territory of Santa Maria da Feira – deserved only one answer "it is an investment of Faurecia".

The fact that many businessmen and employees, whose companies are located in the Industrial Area of Roligo, constantly complain about the problems caused by the involuntary conditioned accessibility - trucks are jammed for hours at the roads for hours due to the lack of space to park properly – or by the bad conditions of the streets’ pavement, that doesn’t worry Faurecia, that is satisfied with the decision. "We are very pleased with the decision and believe that the relationship between Faurecia and the entire local community will work in an exemplary way and will be a key pillar for the success of our operation in Santa Maria Feira." Faurecia is present in 37 countries and "in almost every continent".
