University students from Spain and Sweden visit Cincork

On April 17 and 18, Cincork was visited by about 45 young university students and teachers from Spain and Sweden who wanted to understand a little more about cork, its properties and its products.

The group from the neighbouring country is a finalist one from the Oenology Course at the University of Valladolid, Spain, and has had the opportunity to learn even more about the close relationship between cork and wine, in connection with the preparation and transformation of cork into stopples.

On the other hand, the Scandinavian group, future forestry engineers, have discovered in this sector, particularly in the forest of cork tree, an indigenous specie of the Western Mediterranean (cork tree) with unique characteristics, whose bark allows an infinity of applications.

Both groups also had the opportunity to visit the Fablab of Cincork, a space for prototyping and promoter of the development of new cork applications.

These visits are the result of a partnership between Cincork and APCOR – the Portuguese Cork Association, not only within the project Intercork, but also in the project Cork Experience Tour.
