SUMMER 2020 EXPERIENCE: SHOEFABLAB

Did you finish your school career? Are you looking for a job? Do you want to take advantage of the holidays to deepen your knowledge in the fashion sector? If you are curious to know the world of footwear, the processes, materials and production environment, this is the right opportunity for you. Sign up and come and produce your shoe, broaden your horizons and discover new realities. The footwear industry has renewed itself, it is now a modern industry, more framed with fashion and it is very possible that you have here an opportunity for your future.

Take advantage of this period of social withdrawal, to bet on your qualification and give shape to your ideas, in this short summer experience, promoted by Centro Tecnológico do Calçado de Portugal (CTCP).

It will be a practical and unique experience on the market, combining workshops and flash talks with intensive training (technical on shoe development and production) and practical training for product prototyping at Shoe FabLab. It will last for 2 weeks and the start date is expected on July 20 and the final for July 31.

The 1st week will be online on the ZOOM platform and combines training in technical development and shoe modeling, with workshops and flash talks on topics such as fashion, photography, video, entrepreneurship, Yoga and cooking. It will be a synchronous formation.

In the 2nd week, the participants will be divided into groups and each participant will have 2 days to materialize their shoe at the ShoeFabLab workshop: at the CTCP facilities in São João da Madeira (cutting, sewing, assembly and finishing).

At the beginning, each participant will receive a training kit with the necessary materials and tools to be able to develop the work at home, which they must return to CTCP at the end of the training.

The final result of this experience is materialized in a pair of shoes. At the end of the experience, each participant will have a training certificate.

This experience is aimed at young students, unemployed or looking for their first job. Preferably interested in the area of Design and Fashion and / or experience in the footwear sector. This training aims to raise awareness and develop skills in the area of footwear development and manufacture with a high level of differentiation and intends to increase employability, contributing to increasing the competitiveness of the footwear companies and the sector in general, as well as to support local products of high-level of differentiation, to link to other similar initiatives and to transfer know-how.

This initiative is developed in the framework of the INOVA + Rights and Challenges project, financed by the Local Contracts for Social Development program (CLDS4G), promoted by Casa dos Choupos. Young people from the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira will have priority in the registration.
