Industry 4.0 under debate in Europarque

As part of the Bizfeira Project, the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira  will be organizing its "Industry 4.0" conference on June 9th, starting at 9AM, at the Europarque Congress Centre in Santa Maria da Feira.

As the digital transformation of industry is one of the major challenges faced by Portuguese economy, this initiative aims to accelerate this strategy for competitiveness, targeting entrepreneurs, managers and researchers.

Representatives of the European Commission and the Portuguese Government, as well as entrepreneurs and experts, will analyse the technological changes in structural sectors such as cork and footwear, the role of Community funds and the financing instruments.

Santa Maria da Feira's corporate and industrial fabric is characterized by a strong exporting vocation. It hosts the world's largest centre for processing cork, with a consolidated implementation of the footwear, metal-mechanics and paper industry sectors, and aggregates emerging sectors such as ICT and health research.

Last year, Project Bizfeira was awarded with the 1st National Prize of the "European Awards for Business Promotion", in the Support for Internationalization category. To celebrate its third anniversary, several initiatives will be organized, the "Industry 4.0" conference being the highlight.
