Hubparque integrates European project

Santa Maria da Feira's Business Incubator and Coworking Centre has just been recognized as a founding member of the European Council's ICC Diversity Connectors for Startups pilot project.

HUBPARQUE, promoted by the Association of Information, Communication and Electronic Technology Companies (AETICE), is the second Portuguese business incubator to integrate this project, which aims to explore good practices among similar centres, cities, corporate partners and philanthropists, in the training and implementation of innovative ecosystems that promote knowledge sharing and entrepreneurship, based on cultural, social and economic diversity.

The two-year pilot project's main aim is to reconfigure business centres in Europe in incubators that are "connectors for diversity", i.e. spaces providing general services, funding/potential funders, specific training and training, meeting and coworking spaces  to be shared by new start-ups and already established emerging companies. What is new about it?  "The Connectors for Diversity", being part of the local community's own business ecosystem, maximizing the innovation potential of diversity (e.g., minorities, such as immigrants / refugees, LGBT people, people with disabilities etc.).

In the context of the project "Diversity Connectors for Start-ups: The Art of Mixing, in which AETICE / HUBPARQUE is represented, Intercultural Cities (ICCs), incubators, and partners participate in workshops, contact with experts and visit incubators throughout Europe, in order to experience good practices in the application of connectors for diversity.
