GDEE – ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

The Economic and Business Development Office (GDEE) integrates the organic structure of the City Hall of Santa Maria da Feira. The mission of GDEE is to support the local companies, either national or international, attracting investment to the Municipality. It makes also part of its mission the facilitation of contact between the different players (companies, business and sector associations, educational, research and technological centers) in the search for joint solutions which aim the sustainable development of the local economic tissue, enhancing employability. 

The project BizFeira arises integrated in GDEE as an economic development project that gives a body in an integrated way to the executive's strategy in terms of economic development, involving for this purpose the provision of a Via Verde business service, support to the reception and mobilization of potential investors, visits to industries, participation in business missions, support to companies in the efforts of growth and internationalization, stimulation to entrepreneurship and promotion of the local economy to stimulate the creation of more employment. At the same time, the project supports initiatives that promote greater adaptation of professional training to the needs of local companies.

The project includes a digital business network platform, which is an active and collaborative virtual business space, where companies and individuals form a network of opportunities, prospecting the leverage of the economy. The registration is completely free.

As a tool of business competitiveness promotion, of investment attraction and of employment creation, the BizFeira Platform integrates several dimensions:

• Online Registration of Companies;
 

• Registration and establishment of contact points with the Diaspora of Santa Maria da Feira;

• Space of opportunities for training, business, real state identification (facilities and land) and job offers;

• Via Verde Business Service, with the provision of a dedicated interlocutor;

• Provision of land and real estate in the municipality for industrial and warehouse purposes;

• Relevant economic and business information;

• Space of interaction of economic agents and aggregation of activities developed within the scope of economic and business development of the municipality.
