FROM A SMALL GARAGE, CORTICEIRA AMORIM HAS TRANSFORMED IN A GIANT IN 150 YEARS

Corticeira Amorim's history is long, but full of achievements, in Portugal and abroad. It made Portuguese cork famous all over the world, with stoppers, but also surfboards and surf and even airplanes.

It was born in 1870. It passed through two centuries, one of them changed the millennium. It grew up in a small garage producing stoppers, expanding ever since – although with some setbacks along the way - until it reached the four corners of the world.

In 150 years, Corticeira Amorim has become the largest manufacturing of cork products in the world. With cork stoppers always at the forefront, it has diversified the use of the raw material that, today, is found from insulation to the surf’s surfboards in Nazaré.
