Feira at the centre of the business world

Emídio Sousa wants June 9  to be a "milestone" for the development of the territory. After inaugurating the Europarque Business Centre, the Mayor opened Bizfeira, reminding that the concept, more than an "electronic business platform", is "a whole set of initiatives that we have carried out in Santa Maria da Feira to fight unemployment in recent years."

According to the mayor "the next fight for the territory, and today is an important milestone in this fight, is full employment. And qualified and well-paid employment, that's the next challenge." "Our territory has to be a competitive territory with people with skills to respond to the new needs of companies" - he warned at the start of the business forum devoted to Industry 4.0.

The so-called fourth industrial revolution, which consists of the technological innovation and modernization of the business sector, has brought managers, representatives of the European Commission and the Portuguese Government to Europarque to discuss how traditional industry will be affected, and how this revolution can be financed. In addition to the conferences, the forum also included a program of biztalks, exhibits, workshops and networking sessions over its two days.
