ELECTRONIC COMPLAINT BOOK – MANDATORY FROM JULY 1, 2019

Electronic complaint book – mandatory from July 1, 2019

Recalling the informative note available on our platform, about the electronic complaints book - changes of last January. We recall that the 2nd phase for the implementation of the electronic complaints book started on July 1, 2018 is almost over, that is, from July 1, 2019 all service providers or suppliers of goods that have the complaints book in paper version are obliged to have the complaints book in digital form.

This obligation results from Decree-Law No. 74/2017, of June 21, which amended the Decree-Law no. 156/2015, of September 15. Therefore, the service provider or supplier of goods is obliged to:

• Be registered in the Complaints Book Platform at https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt/inicio;
• Respond to the claimant within 15 business days after submitting the claim;
• Disseminate in their Internet sites, in case they have it, in a visible and prominent place, the access to the digital Platform.
