CORTICEIRA AMORIM COVER A CORK GARDEN IN LONDON

The largest and most prestigious fair of flowers and ideas for gardens in Great Britain held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, in London, which ended on May 25, counted on with a garden of the future designed by the British designer Tom Dixon who used the Portuguese cork in his work.

Presented at the Chelsea Flower Show – a showcase – the Dixon’s garden was developed in partnership with Ikea and the support of Corticeira Amorim, through which he "creates the urban agriculture of the future”. Awarded with the silver medal by the Royal Horticultural Society, the experimental gardening program in an urban environment "Gardening will save the world” was created with cork and other 100% natural, recyclable and sustainable materials.

After being presented at Chelsea Flower Show, the garden will be installed at the Participatory City Foundation, in London, for five years, aiming to educate and raise awareness of the importance of sustainable consumption, says Corticeira Amorim, in a statement.
