Bracelet factory starts work in April

The Swiss multinational Mulitcuirs, the promoter of the Relprod investment project in Santa Maria da Feira, had formally received, on March 28, the building where it will begin, in April, the manufacture of leather bracelets for luxury watches. In May, the company will advance with a complementary area: the "polissage” of bracelets and metal watch cases.

Emídio Sousa, the Mayor of Santa Maria da Feira, accompanied the visit of the Swiss multinational CEO, Sylvan Wenger, to Relprod's facilities in Lusopark. A factory unit built from root in an area of 16 thousand square meters, ready to start the work.

"I am obviously very happy because of this investment project in Santa Maria da Feira, because it has brought more jobs, more professional training and more economic investment for our Municipality and for our country”, said the Mayor.

Emídio Sousa recalls that this is one of the results of the work of economic diplomacy, which had begun in 2013, and highlights the speed in the implementation of this project - about a year to choose the location, acquisition of land, construction of the building and specialized training - which counted on the permanent monitoring of the Town Hall in all stages phases of the process.

Relprod is a leather bracelet production unit for the major international watchmaking brands based on a great precision work, which requires highly specialized labour force, with a sense of accuracy and quality.

About 65 selected collaborators have already received specialized training, being able to begin the manufacture in April, in the new factory unit, settled in the business park located north of the congress centre of Europarque.
