Amy´s Kitchen to build factory in Santa Maria da Feira

Amy´s Kitchen, the leading American vegan company, has chosen Santa Maria da Feira to build its first factory.

Amy's Kitchen, Unipessoal, Lda was established in December 2015. Fully owned by Amy's Kitchen International Limited, its strategic goal is to contribute towards the consolidation of the group’s growth and internationalization in Europe, in order for it to maintain its leadership in the global agro industrial market for vegetarian, biological and non-GM ready-to-eat products. The project also contributes towards the manufacturing of these products in Portugal .

It encompasses a number of investments in technologically differentiated equipment, by resorting to technologies specifically devoted to processing, making and treating the various elements that make up the meals and which allow for the preservation of the quality and flavour of all the raw materials.

The products made in Portugal will be novelties both in the domestic and in the European markets (since there is currently no factory for producing these products in European soil) and they will be distributed from Portugal. The investments in equipment are technologically different from the other companies in the sector and from the group’s own factories in the US.

The company intends to create 160 jobs with this project, 11 of which will be require high qualifications. During its full production year, it should generate a sales volume of 36 million euros, 99 percent of which targets the international markets.
