Amorim Cork Ventures startup invests in ecological yogurt-maker

PrimaLynx - Sustainable Solutions, Lda is the new startup launched by Corticeira Amorim's incubator, which will presenting its YogurtNest to the market.

An ecological and multifunctional yogurt-maker, which works as a slow cooker stove and as a thermal bag, totally produced in Portugal with sustainable materials such as cork and cotton: this is the product of  Amorim Cork Ventures's new startup, PrimaLynx - Sustainable Solutions, Lda. .

The advantages of YogurtNest are not limited to healthier eating. With YogurtNest, thousands of plastic packaging will be saved, and making yogurt - with milk, lactose-free milk or vegetable drinks - becomes a quick task, with significant savings as compared to conventional yogurts, since it allows you to prepare yogurts in only six hours, without depending on electricity, and is made from natural and renewable materials.

The brand estimates that, in the case of a four-person household, it is possible to avoid the production of 2000 125 ml packs for one year, with an associated saving of 300 euros. This value is significantly higher for vegetable-based yogurts. The innovative yogurt-maker is a multifunction tool, as it can also be used as a slow cooker - for cooking rice, pasta, soups and stews - and can be used during a trip, picnic or camping. Also, since cork is its main raw material, the yogurt-maker can serve as thermal bag, since cork is a good ally in conserving temperatures.

For entrepreneur Miguel Leal, founder of PrimaLynx and creator of YogurtNest, "the main concern in the development of YogurtNest was to design a yogurt-maker that would make yogurt more accessible, whose operation did not have a negative impact on the environment and resulting in a natural and healthy product. Cork was the material that allowed us to fulfil all these requirements successfully. "

"YogurtNest is a truly interesting product that highlights the countless advantages of using cork. We highlight its contribution to the so-called low-carbon economy and circular economy, as well as the promotion of healthy eating," says Paulo Bessa, Managing Director of Amorim Cork Ventures.

And, he adds, "PrimaLynx thus presents a product with great added value, which we believe has a potential for domestic and international growth, and these were the reasons that led us to invest in this project."

For Ana Jervis, who along with Miguel Leal, makes up the PrimaLynx team, "YogurtNest will revolutionize the way we make and consume yogurt. We can make all the yogurts we imagine and use yogurt instead of other, less healthy foods in our usual recipes. "

YogurtNest can be purchased on the brand's website and at numerous multi-brand natural product stores throughout the country. Prices vary between 33.50 euros for the baby version and 35 euros for the large version.
