Agriculture leads creation of businesses in the first semester

Agriculture, livestock, fishing and hunting was the sector where the number of new companies increased the most in the first half of the year, with 1,104 new companies registered in the sector during the first six months of 2017.
  
According to the Informa  D & B Barometer for the first six months of the year, it was the agricultural sector (4.3) and real estate that registered a higher ratio between births and closures of companies, when compared to the same period last year - in the case of real estate, five companies were created for each one that closed.
 
Altogether, in the real estate sector, 1,796 companies were created in the first half, 21.9% more than in the same period of the previous year.
 
At the national level, the creation of businesses  rose 5.8% in the first six months compared to the same period in 2016, while closures fell 3.2% to 6,629 companies. The average age of the companies that closed was 12.1 years.
  
The average delay in payments remained at around 27 days.
